These A-shaped stools by Japanese studio Torafu Architects slot together to make a bench. Torafu ArchitectsĀ used basic 2x4 planks of red cedar to make the AA Stools, cutting them at an angle to form trestle-like structures.Ā Each narrow stool can be paired with another to make a wider seat, or joined in sequence to make a bench of any length.Ā The stools also pack flat for storage and transportation.///Description
Started in 2011 as a community workshop within the post-Tohoku earthquake and tsunami landscape, the Ishinomaki Laboratory has gone on to develop a range of simple products in the spirit of do-it-yourself. Their collection includes specially commissioned products from designers and architects including project founder Keiji Ashizawa, Tomoko Azumi, Fabien Cappello, Torafu Architects, Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad, Taiji Fujimori, TomƔs Alonso, Shigeichiro Takeuchi and Julian Patterson.

In 2017, SCP began manufacturing Ishinomaki’s furniture at their factory in Norfolk, UK, using the same materials and techniques as were used in the very beginning.
