Abat-Jour Conique is the first lampshade designed for Potence by ProuvĆ© in 1947 and is intended for use with the PotenceĀ and Petite Potence lamps. It is simply fitted over the light bulb and can be removed again when needed.///Description
During the 1940s, Jean ProuvĆ© designed the Potence wall lamp for his own home in Nancy: a simple light bulb affixed to a long pivoting metal bar, which is supported by a steel wire. In 1947 ProuvĆ© developed a cone-shaped lamp shade to match Potence in its different versions and sizes. Historical photos of Jean ProuvĆ©ās house show that he experimented with different types of lamp shades, including designs by others.
