WithĀ the 1928 Cesca chair, Bauhaus memberĀ Marcel Breuer married traditional craftsmanship with industrial methods. The seminal design helped to popularise tubular steel furnitureĀ in the 20th century.
TheĀ cantilevered frame exploits the inherent strength of steel and gives the stool added flexibility and comfort, while the woven wicker cane inserts bring a lightness and character to the overall design.
