The Elipse lamp is formed of a simple aluminium tube with two openings that allow the light to be projected from the top and to escape from the bottom. The top opening is irregular in shape, an aesthetic detail visible when the lamp is off, and that is greatly enhanced when it is on, as a perfect ellipse is traced on the lamp itself and stands out in the midst of the darkness. Meanwhile, at the bottom the light escapes, and the base that supports functions as a reflective screen, such that the light seems to float.

A white interior contrasts to lamp's dark exterior in the day, and shines brilliantly when illuminated at night.

Designed by Josep Lluís Xuclà for Marset, the outdoor floor light is IP65 rated, and comes in a choice of finishes. It is also available as a shorter floor version and as a wall lamp.
