Kobo table

Kobo table

Ishinomaki Laboratory is a community workshop established by designers in the wake of the 2011 tsunami.

The Kobo table is a strong and durable work station. It has a distinct presence, and is destined to become a long-time favourite outdoors. The table will feel at home in any house with a natural-looking theme.///Description
Started in 2011 as a community workshop within the post-Tohoku earthquake and tsunami landscape, the Ishinomaki Laboratory has gone on to develop a range of simple products in the spirit of do-it-yourself. Their collection includes specially commissioned products from designers and architects including project founder Keiji Ashizawa, Tomoko Azumi, Fabien Cappello, Torafu Architects, Bahbak Hashemi-Nezhad, Taiji Fujimori, Tomás Alonso, Shigeichiro Takeuchi and Julian Patterson.

In 2017, SCP began manufacturing Ishinomaki’s furniture at their factory in Norfolk, UK, using the same materials and techniques as were used in the very beginning.
