The Maggiolina chair resulted from a competition held by the MoMA of New York, inviting designers to create an inexpensive, easy-to-dismantle armchair. Combining a tubular steel frame with burlap āpocketsā into which plywood and padding could be inserted, Marco Zanuso pioneered a brand-new method of construction, in addition to creating a highly stylish and comfortable chair.
