Norton side table

Norton side table

A sophisticated pedestal side table with a round top and three sculptural legs. Inspired by furniture from the Georgian period, Norton is a resolutely modern design that utilises advanced wood manufacturing techniques.///Description
The round top has a reversed bevelled edge, which is pleasing to touch, while the three-legged base has a fluid form, made possible by the use of a 5-axis CNC machine. An exacting design of great refinement, made in European Cherry.

Initially launched to critical acclaim in 2009, the SCP Boxed Collection challenged designers to create smaller-scale pieces that fit within the dimensions of a standard DHL international shipping box (480 x 400 x 390mm). More broadly, the aim was to design objects that could be easily carried out of a store or efficiently shipped via e-commerce.

For 2025, SCP has revisited the Boxed Collection brief, inviting a mix of established designers and emerging talent to explore the concept once again. With no restrictions on material, the brief encourages a diverse range of product typologies, reflecting the evolving landscape of contemporary design.
