Pao portable lamp

Pao portable lamp

A collaboration between Japanese designer Naoto Fukasawa and Danish design brand HAY, the Pao collection of lamps are named after the soft, glowing shape of traditional Mongolian Pao tents illuminated at night-time. Fukasawa set out to encapsulate the warmth and friendliness of these tents, pairing them with his aesthetic of beautiful simplicity.///Description
In the Pao portable lamp, the shade and base are constructed from durable polycarbonate with a smooth, high gloss finish. Concealing the light source inside the shade behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, the Pao portable lamp provides an efficient, soft downlight with a warm, homely glow. With the design being compact and battery operated, a whole new variety of places opens up to the possibility of being lit by Pao, including previously unexplored rooms around the house or out into the garden with an IP44 rating protecting it from splashes.
