For the design, Jasper Morrison envisioned an armchair which would remain comfortable during prolonged periods of relaxation and pondering. As a result the chair is organically curved, with areas that support the body made of flat bars, in contrast to the main tubular structure. Drink rests are integrated into the chair's armrests, for added comfort and refreshment.
The Thinking Manâs Chair from Cappellini is made of lacquered metal. The terracotta version also comes in a special edition embellished with writing that emphasises the chair's structural curves.
